It's no big secret that the smartphone industry is not doing great, but while global sales are only expected to rebound in 2020 following several years of steady decline, certain individual markets seem to be defying those general trends by setting new all-time records.

That's right, India's smartphone shipments have reportedly reached their highest ever level of 49 million units during 2019's third quarter, according to the latest research from Counterpoint, and that's good news for a number of big and small companies in the world's second-most populous country.
