
A research firm out of Korea by the name of CGS-CIMB Group has released a study on the future of foldable phones. The data was obtained by Let's Go Digital (translated), and predicts that the foldable phone form factor will give a static smartphone market the boost that it needs to resume a growth trend. Next year, CIMB expects sales of 4 million foldable handsets globally. That number should rise to 39 million units by 2022. That will take the market share of these phones from 1.3% in 2019 to 9.2% over that time period.
