AT&T launched its 5G mobile service on December 21st when it offered a 90 day free trial to certain consumers and businesses in 12 markets. What the carrier was offering to this select group was its Netgear Nighthawk mobile 5G hotspot, and 5G service. Next spring, the former will be priced at $499 while 15GB of 5G data will cost $70 a month. But for now, AT&T was giving both to trial participants as they tested the service.
