Collateral damage: MediaTek dethrones Qualcomm in world's largest smartphone market

Smartphone System-on-Chip (SoC) shipments fell 20.8 percent to 307 million units in China last year, according to CINNO Research (via ). Qualcomm suffered heavily as it saw a year-on-year decline of 48.1 percent. As a result, its market share dropped to 25.4 percent from 37.9 percent in the year prior.
