Qualcomm preident Cristiano Amon has praise for Apple's new M1 chip

Just last year and Qualcomm were engaged in a long legal battle over the chip designer's licensing policy. According to Qualcomm, this policy can be boiled down to four words: "no license, no chips." Both firms also sued each other claiming patent infringement. Eventually, both companies shook hands and agreed to a settlement. Apple paid Qualcomm an estimated $4.5 billion and both sides agreed to drop all legal charges against each other. Apple received a license for chipsets from Qualcomm for six years with an option for two additional years, and a multi-year chip supply agreement.
