While Amazon didn't exactly take us by surprise with its numerous recent announcements of , the e-commerce giant had absolutely nothing new to unveil on the Fire tablet front a couple of weeks ago.

That means Android-loving bargain hunters will need to settle for one of the company's old 7, 8, or 10-inch slates this (extended) holiday season... or pick up an even older model today at a pretty much unbeatable price.

Although we obviously expect the fast-approaching festival of deals to be spectacular, it's going to be awfully hard to undercut a $79.99 ...
