Huawei overtook Samsung in April to become the largest smartphone manufacturer

In early 2016, Huawei announced its plan to become the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world ahead of Samsung and Apple within 5 years. It overtook the latter for the first time in 2018 and later revealed its new aim to overtake Samsung by 2020.

This goal was thrown into turmoil a year ago when the United States announced a trade ban that directly affected Huawei’s ability to work with Google and other companies. But new data reveals has finally achieved its long-term goal.
