Black Friday saw top shopping apps grab half a million new App Store users led by Amazon

Just the other day, we told you that data from Adobe indicated that 33.5%, or $2.1 billion of online Black Friday sales came from smartphones. This morning, a report from Sensor Tower revealed that the top ten shopping apps on the Apple App Store added 500,000 new users last Friday. That happens to be a 16.3% hike over the number of first time users who visited the top ten shopping apps last year. Overall, the number of new shopping app installations on the App Store rose 9% from 2017 to hit 1.8 million.
