RCS feature starts disappearing from Verizon Pixel 3 for no apparent reason

If you own a Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL locked on Verizon's network, then you're probably aware of the new Rich Communication Services (RCS) feature that the carrier launched early last month. With RCS, Android smartphone users can send messages as large as 8,000 characters long, as well as share media content like photos and video.

Unfortunately, it looks like the RCS feature that Verizon deployed back in December is now starting to disappear from the Pixel 3 for no apparent reason. Verizon support doesn't know what's happening either, Droid-life discovered recently.
