Sprint and HTC will launch a "5G mobile smart hub" in early 2019

In preparation for the launch of its 5G network early next year, Sprint has today announced a new partnership with HTC that will see the creation of a “5G mobile smart hub.”

The two companies have confirmed that the device will make use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 modem which supports 5G and Gigabit LTE. Furthermore, the press release implies that this won’t be a 5G smartphone. Instead, the product will most likely resemble a portable hotspot device.
